Karmen profile.jpg

Karmen Siew

Introducing Karmen, an educator and boardgame aficionado who loves solving puzzles and trying challenging experiences for fun like jumping off waterfalls in Cebu, navigating a new city for a day without using data, and testing the local escape rooms. A Singaporean now living in Japan, Karmen is certified in kimono dressing, is knowledgeable about Harajuku street fashion, enjoys nihonshu (sake), and is now taking cooking classes in Japanese. She loves collecting fountain pens and tea ware, and admires Japanese artisanship particularly in lacquer, ceramics and kimono. Her itineraries can take you to the ateliers where the magic happens, be it fabric, clay or steel. As a teacher, she sees the world as a classroom, and wants to bring students into that greater context, learning and interacting with the outdoors, local culture and people, instead of simply checking off boxes by hopping on and off a bus. She wants to combine her two loves - travel and education - to create itineraries that are memorable for clients.

Favourite Destinations
Japan, Finland & Switzerland
